Meta introduces AI-powered features for Ray-Ban smart glasses

Meta Enhances Ray-Ban Smart Glasses with AI

Meta has announced significant updates to its Ray-Ban smart glasses, introducing new AI-powered features that aim to make the device more practical and user-friendly.

  • Photo reminders: Glasses can take a photo and remind you about it later via phone notification.
  • QR code scanning and direct phone number calling.
  • Upcoming real-time language translation between English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
  • Improved AI responsiveness and accuracy in object recognition and conversations.
  • New clear frame design, limited to 7,500 units, showcasing internal technology.

Meta AI is becoming a more and more prominent feature of the glasses, and there's more stuff that you can do.

Despite challenges faced by other AI-powered wearables, Meta reports high demand for their smart glasses. IDC estimates over 700,000 pairs shipped, with orders more than doubling from Q1 to Q2 2023.
